About SLTEA and our Memberships
On February 28th, a historic milestone unfolded at the 26th floor auditorium of the iconic Lotus Tower: the formation of the proposed Sri Lanka Tourism Entrepreneurs' Association (SLTEA). This remarkable achievement was brought to life by the unwavering dedication and silent efforts of homestay operators and other micro and small-scale tourism businesses in Sri Lanka, who have closely collaborated with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
The inaugural event garnered robust support from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM), Western Province Tourist Board, National Enterprise Development Authority, and National Craft Council. The ILO Uplift Project played a pivotal role in facilitating the event at the Lotus Tower.
Within three months, the SLTEA will hold its commercial launch, complete with social media coverage. At that time, membership will open to existing micro and small tourism entrepreneurs, as well as potential tourism entrepreneurs as defined in our constitution. All details will be published.
